Vedecký pracovník CIB prezentoval na Euro-BioImaging Virtual Pub

RNDr. Veronika Huntošová, PhD., from the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences, Technology and Innovation Park at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, participated as an invited speaker in the Euro-BioImaging Virtual Pub on 4 September 2026, representing the Slovak BioImaging initiative, which is seeking to become a full member of the Euro-BioImaging network. The online event was organised by EURO-BIOIMAGING ERIC and brought together members of the international biological and biomedical imaging community.

In her invited presentation,“Imaging of HER2-Targeted Cancer Therapy Using a Genetically Encoded Photosensitizer,” Dr Huntošová presented research employing advanced imaging approaches to investigate targeted cancer therapy. The work presented at the event was conducted with the support of the Cellular Imaging Hungary Node of EURO-BIOIMAGING ERIC.

The presented results were obtained during the implementation of the project “Breast Cancer Organoid-on-a-Chip for Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging of Autophagy and Apoptosis Induced by Targeted Treatment with Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein” (project No. 09I03-03-V04-00007), supported by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU through the Recovery and Resilience Plan for Slovakia.

The work benefited from access to the Cellular Imaging Hungary Node (University of Debrecen, Hungary), part of the Euro-BioImaging research infrastructure. Financial support was partially provided by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement number 101058620 canSERV.

The Euro-BioImaging Virtual Pub is a weekly online seminar series dedicated to advanced biological and biomedical imaging. It provides an open forum for researchers, imaging-facility specialists, technology developers, and infrastructure users to exchange practical and technical experience in imaging-method development, validation, and application. The series also highlights the expertise and services available through the Euro-BioImaging Nodes and supports interaction across scientific disciplines.

Participation in the Euro-BioImaging Virtual Pub provided an opportunity to present research conducted at CIB to the broader European imaging community, share experience with advanced fluorescence imaging, and increase the international visibility of imaging-based cancer research at UPJŠ. The event also supported continued interaction with EURO-BIOIMAGING ERIC and its community of imaging experts and infrastructure users.

These networking activities were conducted as part of the CAMO3E project, funded by the European Union through Programme Slovakia under call PSK-MZ-009-2024-DV-EFRR, project No. NFP401101F618.
