CIB and Dept. Biophysics members visited Austrian partners in MO3 project

Beginning of December 2025, the researchers from the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences and the Department of Biophysics attended Workshop on Advanced Techniques for Organoid Imaging in the frame of bilateral collaboration on organised as a part of the bilateral APVV project SK-AT-23-0001 between UPJŠ and MedUni Wien: Design of modular anticancer nanoparticles for morpho-molecular functional drug response investigation of cells and patient-derived organoids (MO3). The participants were trained on multimodal imaging, optical coherence tomography and advanced imaging of patient derived organoids exposed to anticancer treatment facilitated by MOFs.

Mater student T.M. Zavacká has the opportunity to be trained in Raman imaging and optical coherent tomography of nanoparticles and tissue. Her visit was supported by ERASMUS+ programme.

Dr. Huntošová and assoc. Prof. Unterhuber identified new modalities and possibilities to use MOF nanoparticles for bioimaging and targeted delivery as a part of the collaboration on the Breast cancer organoid on a chip for fluorescence lifetime imaging of autophagy and apoptosis induced by targeted treatment with designed ankyrin repeat protein project. The project is supported by EU NextGenerationEU through the Recovery and Resilience Plan for Slovakia under the project No. 09I03-03-V04-00007.

This visit of Dr. Huntošová, and Dr. Jurašeková led to the preparation of a new joint project and contributions to conferences. We are further strengthening the relationships between our laboratories and student exchange.
