S nadšením vítame vedeckého pracovníka Andersena Hermana zo Salisbury University prostredníctvom Fulbrightovho programu na Slovensku. Andersen bude pôsobiť v Centre interdisciplinárnych biovied na TIP-UPJŠ pod vedením prof. Erika Sedláka a Dr. Veroniky Huntošovej. Jeho výskum sa zameriava na vývoj transportných systémov s funkcionalizovanými fluorescenčnými proteínmi s cieľom zlepšiť fotodiagnostiku a fotodynamickú terapiu rakoviny a bakteriálnych infekcií rezistentných na antibiotiká.

We're excited to welcome a researcher Andersen Herman from Salisbury University through Fulbright Slovakia Program. Andersen will be hosted by Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences at TIP-UPJS under the mentorship of prof. Erik Sedlak and Dr. Veronika Huntosova. His research focuses on developing fluorescent protein-functionalized transport systems to improve photodiagnostics and photodynamic therapy for cancer and antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.

Meet Andersen Herman, one of the 2025–26 Fulbright U.S. Student grantees heading to Slovakia!

A chemistry major at Salisbury University and originally from Haiti, Andersen immigrated to the U.S. at age 12. His early experience with malaria inspired a deep commitment to medicine and global health. Now, through the hashtag#Fulbright Program, Andersen will be conducting research at Univerzita 'Pavla Jozefa Šafárika' v Košiciach hosted by the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences under the mentorship of prof. Erik Sedlak and RNDr. Veronika Huntošová, PhD..

His research focuses on developing fluorescent protein-functionalized transport systems to improve photodiagnostics and photodynamic therapy for cancer and antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.
