CIB and Dept. Biophysics hosted Austrian experts in bioimaging
The Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences and the Department of Biophysics hosted the excellent researchers from the Medical University of Vienna during 27-28. May 2025. This visit was organised as a part of the bilateral APVV project SK-AT-23-0001 between UPJŠ and MedUni Wien: Design of modular anticancer nanoparticles for morpho-molecular functional drug response investigation of cells and patient-derived organoids (MO3).
During these days, assoc. Prof. Unterhuber and Dr. Andreana participated in the MO3 Workshop in MOF application in Bioimaging led by Dr. Jurašeková. The PhD students had the opportunity to train in multimodal imaging, optical coherence tomography and advanced imaging.
The members of the project's research teams from both countries discussed the possibility of using metal-organic framework materials in bioimaging and biomedicine.
Dr. Huntošová and assoc. Prof. Unterhuber discussed and prepared preliminary results obtained as a part of the collaboration on the Breast cancer organoid on a chip for fluorescence lifetime imaging of autophagy and apoptosis induced by targeted treatment with designed ankyrin repeat protein project. The project is supported by EU NextGenerationEU through the Recovery and Resilience Plan for Slovakia under the project No. 09I03-03-V04-00007.
The meetings organised between groups of assoc. Prof. Unterhuber, Dr. Huntošová, Dr. Jurašeková and assoc. Prof. Almáši led to the preparation of a new joint project and contributions to conferences. We are further strengthening the relationships between our laboratories.
